One Less Gun: At about 9:37 PM on Friday, May 22, 2020, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite arrest and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of Gavin Way and Logan Way in South Boston. While on patrol in the area of the aforementioned location, officers observed a group of males walking out of a courtyard at the intersecting streets. Officers recognized one of the individuals. As the group noticed the officers, one of the males broke off, turning left on Gavin Way. Officers observed the male suddenly duck down behind a blue Honda motor vehicle parked in the area. The male quickly sprung up and continued walking. Officers exited their cruiser and approached the vehicle, locating a Keltec 9mm firearm loaded with nine rounds of live ammunition on the ground next to the rear passenger’s side tire. Officers apprehended the male a short distance away.

Officers arrested Tyshawn Carter, 18-years-old, of Brockton. Carter is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court on charges of Carrying a Firearm without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
