14-year-old brings a loaded gun to school in South Boston

At about 2:06 PM, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, officers assigned to the School Police Unit, and District C-6 (South Boston) responded to the area of 215 Dorchester Street for a found weapon. Officers were advised by school staff that they became aware that a student might be in possession of a firearm.
School staff took the student out of class, and recovered a firearm from his backpack. School staff contacted Boston Police to take custody of the firearm. The firearm was determined to be fully loaded.
The 14-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and charged with: Delinquent to wit unlawful possession of a firearm, delinquent to wit unlawful possession of ammunition, and delinquent to wit unlawful possession of a firearm on school grounds. The juvenile male is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.

The fact that guns are so accessible here in the United States, generally, is scary enough, but the fact that a kid that young manage to get access to a loaded gun and bring it to school is equally scary, if not scarier. Glad that the kid is being tried in Juvenile Court.

I hope his PARENTS will be with him. They too need to be involved in this process. They need to be enrolled in
Parenting Classes with special emphasis on how to address such issues with their children. Individual and Family Therapy would be a plus.
Those pesky kids.
