American Provisions – 613 East Broadway

Located right at the corner of I and Broadway, American Provisions is home of some of South Boston’s best organic coffee, selected artisan cheese, charcuterie, specialty foods, delicious deli sandwiches and an amazing selection of local craft beers and wines . As one of South Boston’s favorite spots, American Provisions offers Flat Black Coffee – roasted in Dorchester. American Provisions gourmet organic house blend coffees are a great pick-me-ups for your commute to work, or maybe a leisurely stroll on Castle Island.  American Provisions also cold brews their iced coffee- allowing for an iced brew that isn’t acidic, bitter or burnt!  This Best of Boston winner aims to please and does just that with their friendly and knowledgeable staff, ecclectic selection of farm to table products, and plenty of items to surprise and delight.

The Paramount (667 East Broadway)
Southie’s newest addition to the restaurant scene boasts one of the best breakfasts around.  Large portions and fresh ingredients, makes for a delicious breakfast to feed any appetite.  Whether it’s Huevos Rancheros or Caramel Banana French Toast, The Paramount never disappoints!

L Street Diner (108 L Street)
Pizzeria by day/night and breakfast joint by morning.  This cozy little spot is a local favorite.   A standout on the menu – is their Irish Breakfast with blood sausage and potatoes.

The Galley Diner (11 P Street)
Family-run breakfast joint located in City Point.  Known for its gigantic size portions, their omelets are chock-full of chockfull of good stuff like cheese, veggies and ham.  Great hash. Featured on the Travel Channel’s Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations.   Winner of this year’s Best of Boston award.

Deja Brew  (704 East Broadway)
This cute and cozy spot is run by local mother and daughter duo. Oatmeal and egg sandwiches are the highlights of their breakfast menu.  Awesome iced coffee.

Sidewalk Cafe (764 East Fourth Street)
Their legendary egg sandwiches is the reason for the line out the door on any given weekend morning.  This take-out spot has amazing coffee too.

Ethel and Andy’s Sandwich Shop (134 K Street)
This tiny little sandwich shop is a trucker’s favorite.  Their breakfast sandwiches are delicious.

Annie’s (753 East Broadway)
Annie’s serves up some the biggest (and delicious) breakfast sandwiches in the neighborhood.  In addition to Annie’s Coffee, you can pick up muffins, donuts, pastries and more!

P.S. Gourmet (106 Dorchester Street)
Home of the legendary “Bucket” of coffee and the best local commercial ever, P.S. is a local favorite.  Offering a multitude of flavors of coffee in both hot and iced, P.S. also has fresh baked goods and delicious breakfast sandwiches made to order.  Stop by and check them out!

My Diner (455 East First Street)
My Diner is now open at the new development at the Distillery at 455 East First Street and will be serving breakfast and lunch from 6am-2:30pm.  Deliveries are available from 7am-2pm.
Enjoy My Diner’s weekday special featuring 3 eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, and home fries & toast for just $4.99! Served weekdays from 6am-9am.  Check out their website for a full menu!  

Olga’s Kafe (206 West Broadway)
This local favorite coffee shop on West Broadway is owned and operated by Southie native Olga Markos. Olga’s Kafe serves up breakfast, lunch and pastries – and because she’s Greek – she takes her coffee seriously! Olga’s coffee beans are flavored so there’s no added syrups. Stop by at 206 West Broadway and check it out!

Broadway’s Pastry + Coffee (258 West Broadway)

This West Broadway cafe offers coffee, tea, pastries and light bites in a cozy setting.  From rich desserts to hearty breakfast sandwiches, Broadway’s Pastry + Coffee is a great neighborhood spot for coffee!

Cannonball Cafe – (383 Dorchester Ave)

Located at 383 Dorchester Avenue, Cannonball Cafe – a new breakfast and lunch gathering spot designed and operated by chef Rachel Lazar is now open for business. Cannonball Cafe, whose name brings the revolutionary history back to South Boston and draws upon the forging and metallurgy that took place in the area, will brighten the longtime industrial district as its first dining spot! The new cafe is equipped with freshly brewed coffees, pastries, smoothies, and grab-and-go lunches. Cannonball Cafe offers discounts for veterans in addition to loyalty cards. Ask for one at checkout – 11th coffee is free!

Mul’s at Amrhein’s (80 West Broadway)
The oldest restaurant in South Boston now hosts the legendary Mul’s for breakfast 7 days a week. Enjoy classics like pancakes, omelets, eggs benedict + more!

Vester Cafe (105 West First Street)
Inspired by the tradition of Danish simplicity, Vester offers quality, seasonal, clean options for mindful eating.  So what exactly does that mean – delicious, locally sourced ingredients in the form of simple options for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, Vester offers a variety of breakfast sandwiches like their eggo waffle sandwich, toasts including avocado + tomato, fig + ricotta, breakfast burritos, and locally sourced bread and pastries.

Koko Cafe (87 L Street)
The L Street serves breakfast, lunch, and of course, coffee! Koko Cafe started off as a mobile espresso and coffee bar but its new location will be its first brick-and-mortar shop! The menu features everything from espresso to iced coffee plus items like Açaí pitaya bowl, cornbread french toast, baked eggs + chorizo for breakfast. The lunch menu features BALT, Chicken Pita, Chicken Club plus pierogis for lunch/dinner! They will be open 7 days a week! Koko Cafe is located at 87 L Street.

Bamboo Juice Bar (687 East Second Street)
Bamboo Beach Juice Bar – located at 687 East Second Street – is now open! The new juice bar features smoothies, wellness shots smoothie bowls, specialty toasts, and plenty of fresh juice! You can check out their full menu here. 

Brunch anyone? The more glamorous alternative to just regular old breakfast, Southie is filled with great spots for brunch.

The Broadway – 726 East Broadway 
The Broadway is one of Southie’s newest and more popular spots for brunch and features items that everyone in the family will love! Enjoy items like Cinnamon Monkey Bread, Huevos Rancheros Pizza, Corned Beef Hash Skillet! Don’t forget their brunch cocktails too like the Broadway Bloody Mary, Nitro Draft Espresso Martini, the Just Peachy Mimosa!

Hunters Kitchen + Bar (110 Dorchester Street)
There’s another choice for brunch in Southie! Hunter’s- 110 Dorchester Street – now proudly serves brunch featuring Southern comfort classics like Chicken + Waffles, Biscuts + Gravy, Honey Butter Cornbread and more! You can check out the menu here! 

Lincoln Tavern (425 West Broadway)
Lincoln offers a delicious brunch seven days a week. With their brunch cocktails, to their breakfast pizza from the wood-fired oven, Lincoln is the perfect spot to clear out the cobwebs from the night before.

Local 149 (149 P Street)
Local 149 gives their spin on brunch with such dishes as stuffed french toast, eggs benedict, steak + tots, a breakfast taco and more! You can check out their menu here! 

Lulu Green (246 West Broadway)
Lulu Green’s Prosciutto Scramble: Seitan Prosciutto, Scrambled JUST Egg, Griddled House-Made Focaccia, Organic Cherry Tomato + Arugula Salad, Truffle Vinaigrette, Parmesan = OMG!  Lulu Green offers an organic, plant-based menu featuring breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner options including fair trade coffee, pressed juice and smoothies!

Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar (412 West Broadway)
This wildly popular spot serves up some Mexican classics like their amazing tacos as well omelets, french toast bites, steak + eggs bowl and more. Don’t forget to try their delicious margaritas too! You can check out the menu here. 

Moonshine 152 (152 Dorchester Ave)
The hip and happening spot for brunch offers the Ron Swanson Brunch item and Baked Scrambled Eggs Enchilada. The food is delicious here and the vibe is relaxed.

Fat Baby (118 Dorchester Street)
Both Saturday and Sunday from 11am-3pm enjoy brunch items like bacon, egg + cheese on a bagel, matcha waffle and cheeseburger eggrolls! Cocktails include the classic Mai Tai, Loco Brew, and more! You can check out the menu here!

Roza Lyons – 709 East Broadway
Roza Lyons is now serving brunch!  Stop by this weekend and enjoy delicious brunch items like their Breakfast Burrito, Eggs Benedict, or the Lyons Omelet!  Brunch is served from 10am-3pm on Saturday and Sunday! Don’t forget to order one of their amazing mimosas too!

The Playwright – 658 East Broadway

The Playwright features an extensive menu filled with brunch favorites like chicken + biscuit, cinnamon roll monkey bread, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, french toast, pancakes plus plenty of day drinks like boozy coffee, mimosas, Bloody Marys + more!

Publico – 11 Dorchester Street
Publico is one of Southie’s favorite spots for brunch! Enjoy English Muffin Sliders, a Bag of Donuts, Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Burrito, Cheeseburger Hash and more! You can see the full brunch menu here!

This wildly popular spot for the 20-somethings features Boozy Iced Coffee, French Toast Sticks, Steak + Eggs + more!  A live DJ often plays during brunch!

Shamrock Pub – 501 East Eighth Street
Shamrock Pub offers brunch on Sundays from 10am-1pm in addition to their full menu!  Enjoy Bloody Marys, breakfast burritos, breakfast burgers and more!

Fresh – 232 Old Colony Ave
Fresh – a new restaurant located on Old Colony Ave just opened its doors and features sandwiches, salads, fresh juices, açaí bowls, charcuterie, and more. On Sundays, enjoy their Throwbacks Brunch! Brunch is also served on Saturdays!

Shy Bird – 12 Old Colony Ave.
Shy Bird – an all-day rotisserie, bar, cafe, and takeaway– features half and whole chicken, fried chicken sandwiches, burgers, pretzels, salads, burgers, beer, wine, cider, and cocktails.OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK 8am-10pm

Layla’s – 332 West Broadway
Layla’s American Tavern is now open at 332 West Broadway.  Maverick Restaurant Group (Lucy’s American Tavern, Bowery Bar in Dot) is the group behind this soon-to-be neighborhood hot spot. Small Victories – 400 Dorchester Street

Small Victories doesn’t have a dedicated brunch menu but they are open for lunch on the weekends and features a fun menu with  snacks like nachos, pickles, pretzels, chip + dip in addition to burgers, hot dogs, and more!  Plus, they serve beer, wine, cocktails, and an extensive whiskey list!
