Some new businesses are expected to open in the neighborhood very soon! Here are some we’re excited about!
Cannonball Cafe will be making a splash in South Boston this fall! Coming to 383 Dorchester Avenue, this new breakfast and lunch gathering spot is designed and operated by chef Rachel Lazar. Cannonball Cafe, whose name brings the revolutionary history back to South Boston and draws upon the forging and metallurgy that took place in the area, will brighten the longtime industrial district as its first dining spot. This local spot will be equipped with freshly brewed coffees, pastries, smoothies, and grab-and-go lunches. Sign up for the newsletter and stay updated with the grand opening date!
Maybe it’s the little paddles or the sound the ball makes when it hits the table, but we love ping pong. So when we saw a post on social media stating that a ping pong club would be opening on Melcher Street, we were thrilled. SPIN, the beloved ping pong social club founded in New York City in 2009 is expanding with its 10th outpost in Fort Point! It is set to open on October 18th! You can learn more here!
National Development announced back in 2019 that Tatte Bakery will open as the anchor tenant at 60-70 Old Colony Ave. The wildly popular and chic bakery will offer classes and workshops open to the public, and have a viewing area of the production space which will serve all Tatte’s Massachusetts locations as they undertake significant expansion. Tatte’s new space totals nearly 30,000 SF and will create over 100 jobs. Holy Moly! Opening day is October 20th! You can learn more here!

Bar Volpe will feature Southern Italian cuisine – think seafood, vegetables and of course, pasta! The 5200 square foot restaurant will feature a wood fire oven and a glassed encased pasta shop and will be located in the old Backyard Betty’s spot on West Broadway – just blocks from Fox & the Knife!
