Looks like Gillette is selling off more of its property (6.5 acres)to prominent development firm Related Beal in the hot real estate market of Fort Point.

According to an article written by Tim Logan in the Boston Globe, the parking lots along the Gillette’s World Shaving Headquarters, close to the soon to be General Electric’s headquarters is being sold to Related Beal.  Although it’s officially not a done deal, it seems as though it will most likely go through.   If this property does get sold to Related Beal, Logan believes it could create 1 million square feet of development – most likely housing, office make and maybe even lab space. Hmm….speaking of lab space.

Last June it was reported that the wildly popular Coppersmith located in the same neighborhood was sold to Anchor Line. A few weeks later, Gillette sold off a parcel located right next door to Coppersmith to Anchor Line.

This month, Alexandria Real Estate Equities and Anchor Line Partners proposed a six-story, 210,000-square-foot life-sciences building on A Street with the Boston Planning and Development Agency. The building will reach 95 feet in height and with a 35-foot mechanical penthouse and pretty much take over the block from A Street to South Boston Haul Road and between West 2nd and West 3rd streets.

So clearly this neighborhood is changing right before our eyes!
