Former No Name Restaurant Site to Become Home for Marine Tech Innovation

The former No Name Restaurant site on the Boston Fish Pier is getting a new chapter.

According to the Boston Business Journal, Massport plans to transform the longtime waterfront space into a research and development hub for marine technology companies. The new bluetech incubator will provide workspace for startups focused on ocean and maritime innovation and is expected to open in the next 18 to 24 months.

The project is part of Massport’s Blue Edge initiative, which aims to grow Boston’s blue economy by supporting companies working on everything from sustainable seafood to ocean technology. Plans also include waterside workspace and access to a floating dock where businesses can test new technologies right on the harbor.

The No Name Restaurant was a waterfront institution for more than 100 years before closing in 2019.
