UPDATE: The Zoning Board of Appeals has approved the plan to replace the building at 472 West Broadway with a newly constructed five-story building with 16 small-units plus parking. You can see the full plan here.
According to Universal Hub, the16 units are broken down into the following: 13 two-bedroom units of up to 847 square feet, one-bedroom units of 588 and 617 square feet and a studio with 430 square feet. There would be also be eleven parking spaces with a three-tier auto lift.
“16 small units?” you ask. Yes, the City of Boston has a new compact living pilot program that allows developers build smaller units so they can sell them at a reduced priced – (let’s see if they actually do).
The first floor on the Broadway side of the building will be used for commercial space.
This project if approved, will join two other large scale projects being built in Perkins Square. One currently being built at 480 West Broadway. The other is located right across the street at 457-469 West Broadway – currently under construction yet.
