For all your fitness enthusiasts or those who want to get in shape, we have some good news regarding some new gyms, fitness studios, and classes in the neighborhood!

The Yahd

The Backyahd (located at South Bay) announced that it opened its second location, The Yahd!  This new gym offers small fitness classes from strength and conditioning to Backyahd flow. The Yahd (and the Backyahd) not only focuses on your fitness goals but also factors in your body and mind. They offer classes throughout the day and also offer an open gym. The new space is located at 55 West Fifth Street.

The “L” aka the Curley Community Center

The Curley Community Center aka The “L” is now open. The membership is currently free for now. All you have to do is register here! The “L” offers a newly renovated fitness center and classes. It also has a steam and sauna for your after-workout needs. Sadly, the fitness center is no longer split up by sex, so you don’t have the luxury of having a guy wearing jeans and Sperrys working out in the women’s area….not speaking from a personal experience or anything.  You can learn more about the Curley Community Center here!

Regan’s Motivated Fitness

Regan’s Motivated Fitness is offering an outdoor bootcamp for September. The bootcamp will be held Mondays + Wednesdays at 6am at and Tuesdays + Thursdays at Garvey Park. The workouts can be anything from yoga, strength training, cardio, or boxing. The variety makes it fun and can break up your routine. To sign up, register here.

The Handle Bar

Turnstyle and Handle Bar have joined forces to grow a new fitness empire. After merging with Turnstyle, the Handle Bar has closed its South Boston location for cycling but opened just over the bridge at Ink Block in the old Turnstyle spot. The new South End studio offers cycling and strength training. The Handle Bar is transforming the South Boston space to accommodate yoga and strength training classes this fall!  Keep an eye out on Handle Bar Instagram for updates.  The Handle Bar also has locations in Fenway, North Station, Harvard Square, Back Bay, Kendall Square, and Charlestown. You can check out their website here.

Everybody Fights

Everybody Fights is moving from Channel Center Street to Ray Flynn Marine Park in December. It will be located in the Design Center Building on Dry Dock Ave. And guess what? The space is double the size! And by the looks of it, Everybody Fights is offering all things fitness, yoga, boxing, strength, and spin. Follow their Instagram for more updates!

Rebel Athletic Club

This fitness studio is located at 196 West Broadway and is now open for business. It features 24/7 access via phone, small group training classes, structured and programmed workouts, plus infrared saunas. For more information, visit their website or follow them on Instagram!

True Fitness

Now open! True Fitness is located at 69 A Street and offers free weights and machines, cardio equipment plus lockers and showers. You can learn more here!

F45

F45 had announced they were opening in spring 2023 in Southie. Unfortunately, 457 West Broadway ground-level space remains vacant. Their last post on Instagram was from November 2022 and has had no updates since. A little birdie did tell us, they are looking for other spots in the neighborhood but nothing has been announced. F45 does have other locations if you want to travel outside of South Boston…but honestly who would want to do that?
