Weekend Picks – Labor Day Weekend

Eat:
End the summer with a good old fashioned Clambake! Head to City Tap on Monday, September 4th and enjoy clambake plates, buckets of Narragansett, lawn games and live music!  Fun begins at 12pm.

Drink:
Hot and dirty! Social Register has an extensive cocktail list including the hot and dirty martini – infused with peppers!  Enjoy some of the best sangria around on their patio or indulge in their deliciously decadent espresso martini!  Stop by this weekend!  Read our review first!

Watch:
Get ready to be dazzled by fireworks over Boston Harbor on Thursday, August 31st at 9pm.  It’s Illuminate the Harbor!  Best viewing locations are East Boston’s Piers Park, Christopher Columbus Park, Long Wharf, and of course Southie’s Seaport District!  There will also be another round of fireworks on Saturday night in Seaport District at 9pm.

Play:
The Lawn on D will be packed with activity this weekend from Friday through Monday!  On Saturday the lawn will be transformed into a massive canvas for street artists and performers.  The day will feature an art walk, roving entertainment, and live music, jugglers, a magic show and more!  Fun begins at 12pm.

See:
You’re gonna need a bigger boat!  On Monday, grab a blanket and head to the Lawn on D an enjoy a screening of the classic movie Jaws.  There will be plenty of Narragansetts on hand for you to enjoy too!  Movie starts at 8pm. (NOTE: The screening was suppose to happen on Sunday but due to rain was changed to Monday.)

Do:
Head to the USS Constitution for some Fun and Games at Sea! The U.S. Navy’s oldest commissioned warship, the 44-gun frigate U.S.S. Constitution, is completing her renovation in Charlestown Navy Yard, but is open to visitors for tours of at least the top deck.  Over Labor Day weekend the sailors who man this legendary vessel will offer a unique view of how the crews of old passed away (what little) free time they had aboard. Sunday, September 3 through Tuesday September 5th from 9 a.m.until 6 p.m.

Listen:
Enjoy a free concert at Aloft Hotel on Thursday night!  Come hang for a live performance from Wild Adriatic powered by Bose. Music starts at 8 PM.
