Boston’s most talented chefs will be firing up the grill at the annual Chefs in Shorts© event.  On Friday, June 20th, the Seaport Hotel will be the city’s hottest spot.  Local chefs will grill up their favorite dishes during this summer-in-the-city barbecue. Meditate:
Take a moment to breathe and just be.  South Boston Yoga (36 West Broadway) is hosting a one-day meditation retreat with William Jackson.  This all day workshop will be easy-going and include a dharma talk, walking, sitting, eating, and laying meditation. The dynamic duo of Tom and Thomas of Motivated Fitness have signed up for the Tri-STate Trek – a three day, 270 mile bike ride to benefit ALS Research and Team Frate Train.  Help the guys out by stopping by their fundraiser at Lincoln Tavern (425 West Broadway) at 5:30pm.  There will be food, a cash bar, raffles and lots of laughs.

Visit 555 Gallery.  555 Gallery (555 East Second Street) is located in the heart of South Boston where old industrial and new residential meet on East Second Street.  This beautiful new gallery features moving and inspiring photography and art exhibits.  This month there will be new work by Hannah Burr: Stand In and photographs by Gail Samuleson: Fluid Terrain from Jun 19th-July 26th.  Artist’s receptions will happen on Saturday, June 21st from 5pm-8pm.  The gallery resides in a 2000 square feet of a renovated 1950 manufacturing plant at street level  –  below the LaMontagne Gallery. Date night pick:
Think outside the box when it comes to a Friday night date.  Head to the Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf and enjoy a classic crowd-pleaser at their outdoor theater.  Each summer the harborside terrace is transformed into an outdoor cinema under the stars from June through August.  This week the featured movie is the classic Casablanca. 
The movie begins at sunset and is free and open to the public.  We recommend getting their a little early to find a spot.  

Family Pick:
Hit the mats and help raise money for new ones.  Ultimate Self Defense & Performance Center (12 B Street) is hosting a special movie night fundraiser featuring the Lego Movie!  At 5pm enjoy some pre-movie fun with games and an obstacle courses. Then it’s Lego Movie time!  7:30 is pick-up!  Cost is $10 per child.  $20 per family.  It’s a drop off event so take advantage and plan yourself a little date night!
