Eat:
Southie girl and renowned chef Barbara Lynch will host Toques and Tonic at the Boston Children’s Museum on Friday, February 7th at 6:30pm.  This charity event will feature 20 food stations featuring small plates from recognized chefs from Boston and around the country, and 10 beverage stations with craft cocktails & wine from the country’s leading tastemakers. Drink:
Raise a glass to the Olympic Athletes and watch the opening ceremony on Friday, February 7th at 7pm.  Williams Tavern (92 A Street) invite you to come by and cheer on Team USA for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.  The opening performance has been kept under wraps but it rumored to involve 15 buildings, six bridges and six trains built on the stage.  Hmmmm… Also, be on the lookout for “Best Opening Ceremony Uniform”. 

Shop:
Target launches a new line filled with a kaleidoscope of colors and patterns to shake away the winter blues and get you longing for spring.  London-based designer Peter Pilotto’s line for Target features surfer inspired dresses, separates, swim suits, sneakers and accessories that retail for less than $70. Target at South Bay will carry select pieces from the collection.  See you in line!

Slurp:
You’ve heard that myth about oysters, right? They say they’re a natural aphrodisiac and perfect timing with Valentine’s Day right around the corner!  American Provisions (613 East Broadway) will put you in the mood with their Orgy of Oysters.  On Saturday, February 8th from 2pm-6pm,  Red’s Best will be shucking $1 Oysters with all the fixins (lemons, horseradish and cocktail sauce).  They will be sampling the perfect wine to pair with seafood too.   See you there!

Read:
Book Sale at the South Boston Public Library.  Come support our local library by purchasing a book or two.  All funds raised from the sale go directly to special programs and services at the South Boston Branch.  This month’s sale is on Saturday, February 8th from 10am to 3pm.   Have some books you’d like to donate?  You can drop them off during businesses hours the library’s front desk.

Art:
Enjoy a free lecture at the South Boston Artists Association Monthly Meeting.  This month’s meeting will feature One of Boston’s preeminent sculptors, Bill Evans.  Creating work in his studio in the Distillery in South Boston since 1981, Evan’s work is represented in public and private collections through the United States, Europe and Japan.  This event is free and open to the public and takes place on Saturday at 930 at the Curley Community Center (on M Street side).

South Boston Youth Lacrosse registration will take place on Saturday from 10am-12pm and on Sunday from 1pm-3pm at the PAL Gym (behind the courthouse on East Broadway near the Java House).  Stop by and sign up!
