Eat:
Drinks and apps at Shenanigan’s (332 West Broadway).  Gather up some friends and share some appetizers like Garlic Mushrooms, Cajun Shrimp Skewers or their mammoth Shenanigans’ Platter featuring potato skins, chicken fingers, garlic break sticks, garlic mushrooms, mozzarella sticks and buffalo fingers.  Friday night is Reggae Fridays with music by Continuous Reggae.  You’ll be jammin’ in no time.

Drink:

Cheer:
Once again, it’s a sports lover’s dream weekend with the triple action of the Sox, the B’s and the Pats.  Red Sox face the Tigers on Thursday night at 8pm, Saturday at 8pm and (maybe but we hope not) Sunday at 8pm.  The Bruins play the Panthers on Thursday at 7:30 and Saturday they face the Tampa Lightning at 7pm.  The Pats goes head to head with the Jets at 1pm on Sunday.  We’re not sure if our heart can take this much sports excitement!  Wondering where to watch the game?  We’ve got some suggestions! https://caughtinsouthie.com/restaurants-bar/7-places-watch-game

Culture:
The Fort Point Open Studios will take place from Friday, October 18th – Sunday, October 20th.  Visitors can explore more than 10 buildings and the studios of 150 artists featuring painters, sculptors, ceramicists, book artists, photographers, jewelers, fashion designers and more.  For more information go to:www.fortpointarts.org

Walk/Ride:
The last Friday of every month is Walk/Ride Day!  Walk to work or ride your bike instead of talking your car.    The South Boston Running Emporium (343 W Broadway) offers 10% off purchases to people who wear green and mention that they are participating in Walk/Ride Day.  We now have two new Hubway Stations to help make the decision a little easier.  Go green!

Run:
On your mark, get set, go! Mount Washington Bank will host the seventh annual 5K race/walk at 9am on  Sunday, October 20th.  Registration is $25 and helps support the Mount Washington Charitable Foundation in support of their educational programs.  For more information,  go to www.mtwashingtonbank.com

Be Amazed:
The Retired Boston Police Officer’s Association will be hosting a very special, free Comedy Magic Show featuring Matt Roberts Astonishing Magic & Illusion Act on Friday, October 18th.  This family friendly event will start at 7pm at the Curley Community Center.  Admission is FREE! Doors open at 6pm.

Family Pick:
The Perry Fall Festival! The Oliver H. Perry School (745 East Seventh Street) is hosting a special family friendly fundraiser.  The second annual fall festival will take place on Saturday, October 19th from 1pm-4pm at the Perry Schoolyard.  There will be lots of fun activities including a bouncy castle, pony rides, face painting, pumpkin decorating, games, food and music.  Admission is $5.  Additional tickets sold at door for different festival activities and chances to win raffle prizes. All proceeds go to the Perry School.
