Best of Boston winner (Best Neighborhood Restaurant, South Boston) Franklin Southie (152 Dorchester Ave.) has a new chef in the kitchen.  Chef Jeff has a long history of great restaurant experience including Harvest, The Salty Pig and Citizens Pub.  Jeff Martino has some new small plates already added on the menu for you to try like Like Pork Fries w/ Bourbon Ketchup, Ice Cold Tuna Tartare, or 1# Of Local Steamers!! A New England Classic! Enjoy them on the patio with a pitcher of white or red sangria – which are nice at sunset!

Sip and Slurp:

Watch:
The USS Constitution will be “coming about” on Friday, August 23rd at 11am with a 21 gun salute.  We’re feeling patriotic already!

Dive:
Not you – them at the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series at Southie’s Fan Pier on August 25th at 2pm.  In Boston, rather than natural cliffs, the divers will use the cantilever roof of the Institute of Contemporary Art building as their diving platform which soars 80 feet above the water’s edge. Yikes!
This event is free and open to the public.
