Christmas is a time for children and what better way to put a smile on a child’s face than with toys.  A group of local residents have joined forces and organized a fun and festive event on Thursday, December 13th to help benefit the children of  MGH Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Center.  This special event takes place at the VFW in Andrew Square (7 Ellery Street) will feature a cash bar, dancing and DJ Jimmy LeBlanc.   Please bring a new unwrapped toy or a suggested cash donation of $20.  For more information visit: https://caughtinsouthie.com/feature/toys-children-cancer

Reunite:

Be Healthy:
Southie’s newest yoga studio, B Yoga is promoting health in 2013.  Stop by and purchase a special membership featuring unlimited classes for the month of January for just $99.  Also, on deck is a a JOOS tasting – the easy to do juice cleanse and question and answer session with Dana the JOOS Coach on Saturday, December 15th from 10am-12pm.  The JOOS cleanse officially begins Monday, January 7th.  And really, who couldn’t use a nutrition reboot after the debauchery of the holidays. 

Drink:
Reality bites!  Join the Capiz Lounge (606 Congress Street) this Friday December 14th for an evening of art, music and seasonal sips.  MTV Real Life/Road Rules couple and burgeoning local artists Abram Boise & Cara Maria Sorbello  art will be on display for viewing.  The night will include a complimentary wine tasting and DJ performance from up-and-coming DJ Mike BOSE.  The fun begins at 6pm. 

Listen:
An American Christmas will take place at the Fourth Presbyterian Church (340 Dorchester Street) on Sunday, December 16th at 4:30 and will feature season songs from American Folk Traditions sung by the Fourth Presbyterian Church Choir. 

In the spirit of the season, celebrate Christmas at a spectacular event.  A Celtic Christmas Concert in the Chapel features Irish music, songs, poems and stories from the old country.  The backdrop is the the historic and beautiful St. Augustine’s Chapel.  This event takes place on Sunday, December 16th at 4pm. Highlight of the evening will be Katie McD and the Irish Cross Country Band.  Tickets are $20 in advance – limited seating.  All proceeds will help benefit the South Boston Youth Ambassadors “Young at Arts” program.  For tickets call Linda Doran at 617-464-7463.
