Limbo:
It’s Tiki Week at Local 149  – August 13th-19th.  This tropical event features a Polynesian prix fix, a St. Barths Rhum launch party on Thursday, and a huge Tiki Bash on Saturday night.  There will also be a raffle that includes $1,000 12 year rhum gift pack with 14K gold punch glasses.  Proceeds from Thursday night’s raffle goes to Scavenger Hunt in Southie and the Veterans of Foreign War.  For more information visit https://caughtinsouthie.com/restaurants-bar/its-tiki-week

The South Boston Public Library (646 East Broadway), along with the American Red Cross, is hosting a blood drive on Friday, August 17th from 10:30 am to 3:30pm.   To schedule an appointment go to www.redcrossblood.org Walk-ins are welcome too! ?

Ferry, music and an island! Berklee College of Music, Boston Harbor Island Alliance, and the Boston Harbor National Park have joined forces for the third year to bring free live music to Georges Island.  On Saturday, August 18th, enjoy the music stylings Helicopria, Julia Easterlin, and Columbus.   Visitors to historic Fort Warren on Georges Island will be able to enjoy Berklee students and alumni performing rock, funk, pop, r&b, soul, hip-hop, Latin folk, and more.  So hop on a ferry and enjoy an afternoon of music and fun in the sun.  The concert begins at 3pm and ends at 6pm.?
Drink:?After a day of fun in the sun, keep the ball rolling and head to Wolfie’s for Apres Beach?4pm-7pm weekends!  Enjoy ice cold PBR $3, sangria $5, frozen drinks $6 and appetizers $4 like wings and calamari.  Just a few blocks away to refreshment – Wolfie’s 81 L Street.

Brew-ha-ha:
Who says you have to be a kid to enjoy the zoo? Brew at the Zoo – a 21 plus event – is returning to theFranklin Park Zoo this Saturday, August 18th from 5pm-9pm.   Come enjoy a beer tasting in the zoo’s Tropical Forest Pavilion which houses such creatures as the ring-tailed lemur, an anteater, and of course the always popular gorilla. DJ BK will be spinning the tunes as you sample beer and treats from local breweries and restaurants.
