Local elected officials have planned another public safety meeting for Thursday, June 14th at 6pm at the Condon Community School. In light of the recent homicides at West Broadway Homes,Congressman Stephen Lynch, Senator Jack Hart, Councilor Bill Linehan, and Representative Nick Collins, along with the South Boston Neighborhood Association Committee and the Mayor’s Office will be hosting a meeting to discuss public safety.

Social Wines (52 West Broadway) is offering weekly beer and wine tastings. This week they are doubling up on the wine tastings for both Thursday and Friday. Mix and mingle and help support the Pan Mass Challenge. Join Pedal Partner and 7 year old Southie resident Aidan Milan and Team Fancy Pants for an evening of food, drinks, and amazing raffles to benefit the Dana Farber/Jimmy Fund Clinic. Hot dog:
Boston Red Dog (274 South Hampton Street) is hosting a Dock Dog Event where some hot dogs will be diving off to see how has the biggest, highest and longest jumps into a forty foot swimming pool! There will be food trucks, face painting, and lots prizes and surprises. It’s happening Saturday, June 16th and Sunday, June 17th from 11am-6pm. Stroke! Stroke!:
The Boston Tea Paddle is happening this weekend. It’s New England’s premiere stand up paddle race happening at Liberty Wharf. This is a family friendly event where paddle boarders of all levels can participate in a variety of course. Dad’s can take a free lesson on Father’s Day – June 17th. Proceeds from this event benefit Journey Forward is a non-profit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of those who have suffered a Spinal Cord Injury. Grab a Seat:
The Musical Chair Championships are taking place on Saturday, June 16th at the Amesbury Sports Park. This festival of fun features live music, rides, food, alcohol and lots and lots of chairs. Last man standing or sitting rather, wins $10,000. Try to break the world’s record for largest game of musical chair – 8,238. Registration begins at 9am.
