Tired of the commercialization of Christmas?  Learn more about the meaning of this season at a special GenY’s event -What Does the Bible Really Say About Christmas? on Saturday, December 14th at 5pm at the Gate of Heaven Lower Hall.  This event is hoping you’ll take time during the busy hustle and bustle of the holiday season to reflect and revisit the story of Christmas. Southie GenYs would like to invite the entire South Boston community to refresh our memories about what this special time of year is really all about.  This talk will be lead by Brother Matt Janeczko and will be festive refreshments served. GenY is a new spiritual group formed through St. Brigid’s and Gate of Heaven parishes with a focus on the three pillars of social, service and spirituality.

Run:?
Strip down to your speedo, don a Santa hat and brave the cold!  If this sounds like fun, you should participate in the one-mile Santa Speedo Run on December 14th at 1pm.  The funds raised from this race will benefit Play Ball Foundation, a terrific organization that provides Boston middle school students with a chance to play and build friendships and character through the lessons of sport – teamwork, communication and discipline. To register visit: http://www.ssrunners.org/
