Tax Free Weekend – Shop Local, Shop Southie!

Now more than ever, our small businesses need your help! It’s Tax Free Weekend (8/14 + 8/15)  shop local! Pick up a gift or treat yourself to something nice! You’ll be supporting local business. So really, it’s a win/win!  Most retail items are tax free this weekend!  The following do not qualify for the sales tax holiday exemption:

• Meals
• Motor vehicles
• Motorboats
• Telecommunications services
• Gas
• Steam
• Electricity
• Tobacco products
• Marijuana or marijuana products
• Alcoholic beverages, and
• Any single item whose price is more than $2,500.

Love Child – the retail shop, experiential venue and home of the bloom + booze kits –has two locations in the neighborhood – one on West Broadway (closed Saturday but open Sunday) and the other in the Seaport – only a few days left in this spot!  Stop by and treat yourself!

The Current is host to many small business pop ups including Booty by Brybant, Studs and Love Child!  For Now features a rotating collective of new and impactful brands. This innovative shop builds and incubates brands, artists and makers with a positive social impact.

Tafari Wraps – This women-powered small business creates beautifully and artfully crafted luxury accessories right here in the Seaport! The mother-daughter duo of Imani and Delmeshia intentionally design and stitch their products to be not only fashionable but healing in their function. Sourcing breathable, natural textiles in vibrant patterns and colors, they hand make headwraps, kerchiefs, headbands, scrunchies and masks!
