Editor’s note: In an effort to promote small businesses, our SLIP Interns will be presenting features on small businesses in the neighborhood.
Today, I had my hair blown out and styled with fishtail braids by Sarah at House of Ivy on East Broadway. House of Ivy is a really pretty salon with an LA vibe, complete with lots of plants and earthy tones.
First, Sarah shampooed and conditioned my hair, which smelled so good. Then, I sat in Sarah’s chair, and she blew dry my hair, making it smooth and shiny. Then she parted my hair and braided it into two fishtail braids. A fishtail resembles the overlapping scales of a fish. It’s similar to a French braid but uses only two sections of hair instead of three.
Sarah did an amazing job! I love my braids so much!
Everyone at House of Ivy was so nice and friendly, and they made me feel welcome. If you’re thinking about getting a blowout or getting braids, you should go to House of Ivy and request Sarah!
