April 11, 2023 – Boston, MA – Boston’s largest free outdoor workout series, Seaport Sweat, is back for its eighth season, running from May 1 through September 30, 2023. This year, the community-driven series will offer over 100 free fitness classes, including new classes Power Flow with Ashley Mitchell, Mind Over Mat(ter) with Lloyd Hawthorn, HIIT me UP with Dana Bogan, and Lit2Lift, as well as favorites, like Kick It By Eliza with Eliza Shirazi, Peaches Guaranteed with Rob Velasquez, Sculpt That sASS with Alanna Perry, BronCore Bootcamp with Bron Volney, Athletic Conditioning with Michael Soares, Pilates Fusion with Britney Willingham, and Zumba with Nicole Derosiers. In addition, classes will be offered by new to Boston stores based in Seaport, including Alo, a forward design yogi clothing brand, and smart strength-training equipment company Tonal. Classes will return from fitness company Equinox and athletic apparel retailer lululemon, also based in Seaport.

All Seaport Sweat classes will be held on Seaport Common, every Monday through Thursday at 5:30pm and 6:30pm and Saturdays at 10am.  Extra classes will be held on Thursday July 20th and August 10th at 4:30pm and Sunday, August 27th at 10am. For more information, visit www.bostonseaport.xyz/seaport-sweat

Rob Velasquez 
Mondays at 5:30pm

Class Description: Peaches Guaranteed 
A 45-minute circuit style class where participants will work in groups, moving to 6-10 stations. This workout will be fast paced and NONSTOP with focus on lower body and core. Participants will also be challenged cardio vascularly. Rob not only guarantees a great workout but a fun and interactive way to meet new people!

Instructor Bio 
Originally from Pueblo, CO, Rob Velasquez has been a Boston resident for the past 20 years. After playing football at Endicott College, he went on to coach at BB&N, BC High, Tufts University, and Bentley University. His professional fitness career started at EverybodyFights in Boston and he has been working as a personal trainer since 2019. Rob is the Co-Founder of BackYahd Boston in the South Bay Shopping Center and Owner of The Grit Academy Personal Training on Newbury Street.

Britney Willingham 
Mondays at 6:30pm

Class Description: Pilates Fusion 
Join Britney for 45 minutes of dynamic movement. This class combines classic & contemporary sequences and breathing techniques aimed to strengthen your muscles and increase flexibility. No experience needed. Grab your mat and get ready to move!

Instructor Bio 
Britney’s passion for movement began in the dance studio at the age of two. This lifelong commitment evolved into teaching various movement modalities, including Pilates, yoga, fitness and dance. Britney fuses her knowledge to deliver a powerful and thoughtful class, each time she steps onto the mat. Britney also understands how being new to a movement practice can be intimidating. She loves meeting new faces and empowers confidence in each one of her students. The ability to walk with each student, at any level, on their fitness journey is a big part of what keeps her coming back to teaching Pilates. Upon leaving her class she hopes you feel nourished, fearless, and joyful. “Let’s get sweaty together and most importantly, stronger together!”

Alanna Perry

Class Description: Sculpt That sASS 

Sculpt That sASS is a sweaty, sassy and sexy sculpt class with a strong emphasis on sculpting THAT sASS! Join the SCULPT SQUAD as you move through sASSy dance cardio bursts mixed with your favorite Barre Groove sculpt moves for a maximum calorie-burning effect. This sASSy sculpt class builds muscle, strength and endurance and will have you moving and grooving to the beat. The sASSy strength exercises target all major muscle groups so you can tone from head-to-toe, honay!

Instructor Bio 
Alanna Perry is a former NFL Cheerleader turned fitness entrepreneur who is changing the way people look and feel about fitness! Alanna is the owner of Barre Groove, a boutique fitness studio in Downtown Crossing that offers fun, innovative and effective fitness classes that you can’t find anywhere else! Alanna has an extensive background in dance; she grew up as a competitive dancer, studied modern and contemporary ballet in college, danced on the sidelines for the New England Patriots and has been an active coach/ instructor in the Boston fitness community for more than 10 years. Alanna thrives on bringing the sASS to every class and is known to keep you smiling while sweating! Alanna and Barre Groove have been featured in The Boston Globe, Boston Magazine, Boston Common Magazine and Boston Business Journal, along with television appearances on NBC Boston’s “The Hub Today” and WCVB-TV “Chronicle”. Barre Groove also was awarded Best of Boston: 2019 Best Barre Studio by Boston Magazine.

Dana Bogan  
Tuesdays at 6:30pm

Class Description: HIIT me UP 
Looking for a physical challenge to stimulate your muscles and challenge your mind? Join us for a bodyweight high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class that will feature strength and cardio circuits that test your mental and physical strength. This class welcomes all movement abilities and will offer scalable options to support participation in class. Each class will bring a new format to keep you on your toes. Step outside of your comfort zone and find a personal challenge that increases your physical stamina and cultivates mental resilience.

Instructor Bio 
Dana Bogan (she/hers) is a lifelong athlete who embraces the power of movement as a way to strengthen meaningful connections within ourselves and in community with others. Dana is an AFAA certified group fitness instructor/NASM certified personal trainer by night and a Clinical Social Work by day. Dana’s mission as a trainer is to create a space where you are challenged physically, welcomed emotionally to connect in mind and body, and encouraged to become curious about how the strength you cultivate in class translates to other aspects of life. She strives to keep fitness fun, creative, and accessible; to allow all who would like to access its benefits, the capacity to do so. Join Dana weekly for a mix of strength, cardio, and fun, always with a side of burpees for good measure.

Michael Soares 
Wednesdays at 5:30pm

Class Description: Athletic Conditioning 
Athletic Conditioning is an interval training class that creatively mixes bodyweight exercises with safe plyometrics. A combination of strength training and cardio, this class is designed to make you find new boundaries that challenge your muscular endurance and strength.

Instructor Bio 
Meet Michael Soares, an elite personal trainer and online health coach who founded New Human. New Human is best known for its cutting-edge fitness app that has transformed the lives of over 15,000 people worldwide, offering unparalleled customization and support to help clients achieve their goals in creating custom workout and nutritional programs tailored to each individual’s needs. With a background in Exercise Science and certifications from ISSA, Pre/Post Natal, and Precision Nutrition LVL 1, Michael has coached a diverse range of clients, from Olympians and professional athletes to kindergarteners. His mission is to help everyone “reclaim their inner athlete,” regardless of age.

Ashley Mitchell

Class Description: Power Flow
Power Flow is a practice focused on building strength and endurance through the marrying of traditional vinyasa poses with strength training and breath work. This all-levels dynamic flow will challenge you and invite you to tap into your most powerful self.

Instructor Bio 
Ashley Mitchell is a multi-passionate creator and new mom. She has become a powerful voice speaking out against racial inequality in the fitness space, garnering fast follow-ship and influence, making her an agent of untold levels of inspiration and strength. Ashley currently works in several capacities, including stay-at-home mom to Zion, Director of the Movement School at Down Under Yoga where she also teaches strength classes, consults in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and most proudly, runs The Courage Campaign, a non-profit founded with her husband Mark.

Nicole Derosiers 
Thursdays at 5:30pm

Class Description: Zumba
Get lost in the hypnotic sounds of Latin and international rhythms from all over the world with Zumba fitness. Zumba takes the “work” out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Everybody and everybody can come together and get their sweat on with this energy boosting class. Comfortable cross training sneakers strongly recommended. No fitness or dance background necessary. Just bring your authentic self!

Instructor Bio 
Nicole has been dancing since she could walk (probably even before that too). She caught the fitness bug 12 years ago after taking a Zumba Fitness® class and got licensed to teach shortly thereafter! Her dedication to bringing Zumba Fitness® classes to a diverse clientele across New England inspired her to build her resume with barre, HIIT, cycle, personal training, and more! If she’s not working out or teaching, she’s online shopping, catching up on Bravo, brunching with her besties, and spending time with her fiancé and cat, Jada Pinkett. In any class with Nicole, you must follow her two important rules: Sweat and Smile!

Lloyd Hawthorn 
Thursdays at 6:30pm

Class Description: Mind Over Mat(ter) 
This fun Vinyasa Flow is a fluid and active style of yoga, emphasized by the linking of breath and movement. All levels are welcome! Expect to experience a range of postures (standing, seated, inverted, prone and supine), sun salutations (surya namaskar), breath practices (pranayama) with a beautiful closing relaxation (savasana). And there will always be the option to get upside down!

Instructor Bio 
Lloyd Hawthorn grew up in and around the coastal areas of the beautiful South Pacific Island nation of New Zealand, where from an early age he was passionate about all sports, movement and the beautiful nature the country has to offer. Coming out of high school, he had multiple opportunities to pursue a professional sports career but chose to focus on his other passion, the restaurant and hospitality industry. Maintaining a fit, active and healthy lifestyle has always been an important focus of Lloyd’s life. As he will tell you, in 2008, he ‘got dragged, kicking and screaming’ to his first yoga class. It became an instant love. Since then, he has made the practice of yoga part of his daily life and started the true journey of a yogi. Since 2017, Lloyd has been teaching yoga full time both in the US and overseas, leading 200 Hour Teacher Training and lecturing on everything yoga related from anatomy and philosophy to contraindications. He is a lover of movement, arm balances, handstands, inversions and creative sequencing. He is passionate about connecting with his students, spreading his love for yoga and helping others in their journey by sharing his journey.

Class Description: BronCore Bootcamp
BronCore Bootcamp is the perfect mix of high intensity cardio, core and strength. Expect nothing but a high-intensity GO, GO, GO workout. Every muscle in your body will be worked with plyometric rounds, strength circuits and as much core as possible while trying to keep your clothes somewhat clean. It only takes one of these high-energy classes to get hooked, and it is no surprise that BronCore Fitness stays true to their slogan “ZERO BOREDOM, ALL SWEAT.”

Instructor Bio 
Bron Volney brings over a decade of experience and a lifelong passion for health and wellness to fitness. As the founder of his downtown Boston based personal training and bootcamp company, BronCore Fitness, Bron creates epic bootcamp workouts that take place indoors and outdoors all over the city of Boston. High energy, happy vibes are the name of his game. He believes that if your workouts and nutrition are on point, everything else in your week falls into place. Bron’s favorite things to do when he’s not at the gym or in a fitness class are partying with friends, watching scary movies and eating some good ol’ southern style BBQ.

Class Description: Kick It By Eliza 
Kick It is a music-driven, kickboxing-inspired fitness method with 13 rounds that have specific goals. From warm-up, to meditative cool down, to toning and conditioning, Kick It targets key physical performance indicators to maximize efforts and provide real change while also creating a fun and upbeat environment that everyone will enjoy.

Instructor Bio
Eliza Shirazi was a college student when she noticed the lack of community-centered fitness options for women. That changed when Eliza founded Kick It, a kickboxing method that promotes health and wellness while celebrating and inspiring women to lead a healthy life and make authentic connections with other women. This loyal following dedicated to female empowerment is better known as the Fempire®. What began as a passion-fueled project years ago has since turned into a well-respected brand that has certified more than 400 instructors.

Lit2Lift 
Saturdays at 10:00am

Class Description: Lit2Lift 
A hybrid workout consisting of high energy, good music and functional exercises to bring you a LIT experience! We will start the workout with a warmup and end with a cool down. Let’s go!

Instructor Bios 
Jonady was born and raised right here in Boston. He graduated from Bridgewater State University back in 2018 with a degree in Exercise Science. A year later, he received his ACE personal training certification and has been a trainer since. Jonady is also the cofounder of LIT2LIFT. A lifestyle fitness brand that strives to make fitness and health accessible and fun to all!

Darren graduated from Bridgewater State University in 2018. He was born and raised in Boston and always had a passion for sports. In his junior year of college Darren Co-founded LIT2LIFT to inspire and motivate individuals to live a healthier lifestyle. In 2020, he became an ACE certified personal trainer. He has since been training at various facilities in the greater Boston area, offering both group and individualized training. Darren uses his LIT2LIFT platform to continue pushing the fitness culture in his community.
