Seaport Sweat Celebrates 10 Years as Boston’s Largest Free Outdoor Workout Series

Seaport also welcomes the return of Stretch and the City,  presented by Lifeway Kefir, and debuts the high-energy Sweatapalooza celebration on June 21

April 2, 2025 – Boston, MA – Seaport Sweat, Boston’s beloved free outdoor workout series, returns for its milestone 10th season, sponsored by Mass General Brigham Health Plan. From May 5 through September 30, 2025. Seaport Common will once again come alive with movement, music, and community as more than 100 free fitness classes take over the green space.

What began as a grassroots initiative has grown into a beloved wellness tradition, now celebrating a decade of bringing Boston’s top instructors and diverse workouts, including HIIT, strength training, dance cardio, yoga, and more, to the heart of Seaport, all set to live music from DJ Sprino.

Thanks to Seaport Sweat sponsor Mass General Brigham Health Plan, everyone can stay cool while they break a sweat. The new Hydration Station on Seaport Common, right next to The Current, features a water fountain, bottle refill spot, and even a dog bowl for thirsty pups.

New for 2025 is Sweatapalooza, a fitness festival debuting on Saturday, June 21 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. The celebration will be led by longtime Seaport Sweat favorites Eliza Shirazi and Bron Volney, with a special guest instructor presented by Go To Bermuda. In addition to high-energy workouts, the event will feature a live DJ, exciting pop-ups, and giveaways, bringing extra energy and fun to the waterfront.

Eliza shares, ““Being part of Seaport Sweat since day one has been one of the greatest honors of my career. Ten years ago, I was just starting out as an instructor and small business owner, and this series helped me build community through something accessible, consistent, and heart-centered. As the Seaport has grown, this program has stayed true, offering free, high-quality fitness for all. What began as classes on dirt is now Boston’s best free outdoor fitness experience, views, charm, and plenty of sweat. It’s a full-circle moment for both Seaport Sweat and me.”

All Seaport Sweat classes are free and take place on Seaport Common, Mondays through Thursdays at 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM, and Saturdays at 10:00 AM. For full details and to register, visit https://www.bostonseaport.xyz/seaport-sweat.

“It’s well known that exercise can promote physical health and mental well-being, but it can be challenging to access opportunities to stay active. That’s why Mass General Brigham Health Plan is excited to partner with the Seaport to bring free fitness options directly to our communities as the premier sponsor of this year’s Seaport Sweat series. This is a wonderful tradition that supports overall health and wellness,” shares Stanley Hochberg, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Mass General Brigham Health Plan.

Returning for its second year, Stretch and the City presented by Lifeway Kefir will offer weekly Friday yoga classes, at noon, at the Summer Street Steps, providing a restorative midday reset.

Seaport Sweat Saturdays will bring a dynamic mix of workouts led by alumni instructors who have been part of the series over the past decade representing the family of wellness brands that have made Seaport their home. From national fitness powerhouses to emerging boutique favorites, each Saturday features a different brand-led class that celebrates the evolution of Seaport’s wellness community.

“It’s incredible to see Seaport Sweat reach its 10th season, and we’re excited to celebrate with a jam-packed lineup of classes and the debut of Sweatapalooza, a day dedicated to movement and community. We’re also thrilled to bring back Stretch and the City at the Summer Street Steps, offering another way for people to stay active and connect. Whether you’re a long-time participant or trying a class for the first time, there’s something for everyone,” says Claire Kilcullen, Associate Director, Culture & Experience, Boston Seaport by WS.
