SBNH: Diaper Depot
Helping the families of South Boston
Cheryl Itri, Director of EEC Programs at SBNH had a dream of creating a space where families could come to access what they need for their babies – without barriers and without judgement. She thought she would do this in her retirement however —
During the past 18 months of the pandemic, South Boston Neighborhood House has been inundated with calls from families in need of diapers and baby wipes. An average monthly supply of diapers costs approximately $80.00 which is a hardship for many of our families. We also know that not every family in need of diapers and wipes has reached out to us and some are going without and don’t know where to turn for help.
One in three families (in this Country) struggles to provide clean diapers for their baby – they can not afford and do not have access to diapers . We know that diapers are essential to a baby’s healthy development – keeping infants and toddlers clean, dry, and healthy is key to building a solid foundation for children to reach their full potential.
SBNH has created a Diaper Depot to address the small things that matter! The needs that are being overlooked and unmet.
