Prepare:
Don’t let recent warm temperatures fool you into thinking winter is never coming.  It’s looming on the horizon and nobody wants to be ill prepared for a rouge snowstorm.  Make sure you have the essential ready to shovel out your parking spot and mark your territory.  Flood Square Hardware (628 East Broadway) is offering it’s Southie Snow Survival Kit.  Included in this winter must-have is a snow shovel, snow brush for your car, 35 pounds of eco-friendly ice melt, and a bright orange cone.  All for just $53.99 and they’ll deliver free to your door.

Eat:
Telegraph Hill (289 Dorchester Street) has added Sunday brunch to its menu.  Boasting the “soon to be famous” brunch buffet, Telegraph Hill will be serving up the eggs from 10am to 1:30pm on Sundays.  While you’re there order up one of their famous Bloody Marys.  We like ours extra spicy!

Drink:
Belly up to the bar at Franklin Southie (152 Dot Ave).  Order up Gina’s “Ginger Beer” – a new spin on an old fashioned drink.  It’s a refreshing combination of Pabst’s Blue Ribbon, Domain De Canton, Fresh Lemon Juice and Fresh Ginger.  $9.

Skate:
Take advantage of the warmer temperatures and go skating on the Frog Pond at the Boston Commons.  Whether you bring your own skates, or rent a pair, skating on the Frog Pond with someone special is a festive way to kick off the holiday season.  They are open until 10pm on Fridays.  Saturdays 10am-10pm.  Sundays 10am-9pm. Get yourself a hot chocolate at the Frog Pond Cafe and drink under the heated umbrella. Price: Adults (14 plus) is $5.  Under 13 is free!  Skate rentals $5 to $9.  For more information: http://www.bostonfrogpond.com
