New on the Horizon: Ballers, bringing Pickleball, Padel and More to the Seaport this Summer

Get your paddles ready, Southie! Ballers, a new social-and-sports concept, is coming to the Seaport District this July! Ballers includes an outdoor pickleball and padel courts, plus a sleek café and bar with a menu from a noted chef. And guess what? Come winter, the pickleball courts will convert to an ice rink. Heaters and hot toddies will be on deck to help keep you warm!
A roster of actual ballers backs the whole concept: tennis legends Kim Clijsters, Sloane Stephens, and Andre Agassi, along with pickleball pro Connor Garnett and NBA All-Star Tyrese Maxey. Philly’s getting the first Ballers in June, with the Boston location in July.
According to the Boston Globe, Ballers plans to open 50+ locations across the U.S. over the next decade. The Boston venue will feature three padel courts—the first ones in Boston—designed for year-round play and five pickleball courts. (The pickleball courts will transform into an ice rink with a synthetic surface in winter.) Ballers will offer lessons for both sports and open play, meaning you can join a group on a court.
As for the cafe, beer, wine, and hard seltzers will be served and a menu in partnership with James Beard Award semi-finalist chef Mitch Prensky of Supper Philly, L’Ecole, and Lutece.
The cost to play will range from $15 to $30 per hour. 45 Pier 4 Blvd., Boston; www.ballers-us.com.
