Beacon to the Dream

This weekend Irish artist Caoimhghin Ó Fraithile will be teaching a paper lantern workshop on Saturday, November 10th from noon to 3pm at Medicine Wheel (110 K Street).  This workshop is part of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s I-Have-a-Dream speech, Pleasure Bay at Castle Island will be encircled  with lanterns intended to signify a beacon of hope and inclusion on August 23, 2013. 

This workshop is free and open to the public.

Caoimhghin Ó Fraithilework is on view in the group exhibition, Terrain, on view until Nov 16th at Medicine Wheel’s Spoke Gallery.

Light up the night
Medicine Wheel is inviting local groups and organizations to join them in this meaningful project so that together enough lanterns will be made to light up Pleasure Bay. Your light will be present and will have become part of the beacon of hope.
