Great February events in your own backyard!

There are music performances happening four consecutive nights Feb. 2-5 at two Fort Point venues: Studio Soto- 10 Channel Center St. (http://www.studiosoto.org/) and flopera house – 381 Congress St, in Fort Point/South Boston. (suggested donation $10) The schedule is listed below!

On February 9th at 6:30pm – at Medicine Wheel Productions is a FREE screening of  the new documentary, Acting Together on the World Stage. “The project documents peacebuilding performance, highlighting artists, peacebuilders, and community leaders from every continent whose rituals and theatrical works speak truth to power and support communities to mourn losses and build bridges across differences.” There will be a reception at MWP’s Spoke Gallery (you can see the current show) and an informal discussion follows the screening (110 K Street, 2nd Floor, South Boston 02127) For more info:http://mwponline.org/wordpress/?page_id=2

While you are in Fort Point stop by the FPAC gallery to see the show  Shame/Less. The show runs till March 2nd and normal gallery hours are  Mon.- 9am to 3pm and Tues-Fri 9am to 9pm.  (300 Summer Street, M1, 02210)  And on Feb. 10th from 6 to 9pm there is a FREE meet and greet with the artists in the FPAC show and also “Honey” a performance by Rosemarie Padovano.  More info:  http://www.fortpointarts.org/exhibitions/fpac-gallery/

And not to be missed are three events at the ICA Boston: Feb 3rd 7:30pm a music performance by Georg Friedrich Haas: In vain featuring Sound Icon, and on Feb 10th (7:30pm) & Feb 11th (8pm) dance performances- World Music CRASHarts Presents: Stephen Petronio Company.
