Have you seen them?

If you were strolling through Downtown this week and happened to spot four very large and very naked pink guys awkwardly wedged between buildings, climbing trees, or chilling on rooftops, don’t worry—you’re not hallucinating. This quirky display is the latest brainchild of Winteractive, the same art initiative that brought us last year’s viral (and slightly creepy) clown heads.

Winteractive, known for their bold and unconventional approach to public art, is back to inject a little weirdness and whimsy into Boston’s notoriously bleak winter months. Their mission? To get us all outside and remind us that winter doesn’t have to be just gray skies and icy sidewalks. And let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to stop and snap a selfie with a giant pink guy casually perched on a ledge?

This year’s exhibit features over 15 artworks and interactive play elements scattered throughout the city, officially kicking off on January 15. But because Winteractive clearly loves a good surprise, a few pieces—like these playful pink fellas—have already started popping up to give us a sneak peek.  Winteractive will be on display until March 30th and presented by Boston Downtown Alliance.
