With August being Black Business Month, Boston Seaport by WS Development continues to host its popular Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market series, which shines a spotlight on locally based, Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. The recurring monthly market will take place Saturday, August 28th from 1-7pm and Sunday, August 29th from 12-6pm on Seaport Common. Discover and support more than 30 Black-owned businesses from throughout the Greater Boston area with companies ranging from toys to art, skincare lines, houseplants, adult and children’s clothing, and even metaphysical offerings. The 2021 installation of Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market has significantly evolved the partnership between WS, Boston Seaport and Black Owned Bos., which first formed last year. Additional Fall iterations of Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market will take place on September 26th and October 17th. Seaport Common is located at 85 Northern Avenue; visit www.bostonseaport.xyz for more information.

“It is wonderful to see how a single pop-up event in August 2020 has evolved into a beloved monthly shopping destination in the Seaport. We’re thrilled that the Seaport x Black Owned Bos. Market partnership has created new, exciting opportunities to connect over 70 local Black-owned businesses with thousands of neighborhood residents and visitors since its inception last year,” says Emily Soukas, Senior Manager of Activations and Partnerships, Seaport at WS Development.

“At the heart of a commercial district in Boston, Seaport Common has been a phenomenal location to kick off the Seaport x Black Owned Bos. outdoor market. As a pop-up, the market is a one-of-a-kind experience – creating a sense of belonging and community for the vendor partners and all of the patrons. I am excited to see how the relationships fostered at the market can continue to turn into long term impactful business opportunities in the Seaport district and beyond,” says Jae’da Turner, Founder & Managing Director of Black Owned Bos.

All vendors featured at the market are members of Black Owned Bos.’s incredible local network; each vendor will be featured in a tented area on Seaport Common, providing a safe pop-up location to showcase and sell their goods.

Participating Black-owned businesses for August 28-29th’s edition are listed below. Music will be provided by DJ Knzwrth for the August 28th market, and DJ Slick Vick for the August 29th market.  Masks are optional for fully vaccinated staff and guests.
