What new at SBYHL and the Murphy Rink

The South Boston Youth Hockey League announced yesterday that they will be offering free Learn to Skate lessons for boys and girls age 9 and under beginning this Sunday, February 21st at 4PM at the Murphy Rink.  Helmets with cage are required.  Please arrive early to allow time to register.  Registration is also available at the Murphy Rink Skate Shop Wednesday – Friday from 10AM – 3PM.  There will be 4 sessions, February 21 and 28 and March 6 and 13.   This program was made possible by the Boston Redevelopment Corporation grant.

Looking for a fun way to keep the kids entertained? Lace up the skates and hit the ice.  The Murphy Rink is offering public skating this week.  If you don’t have skates, don’t worry.  You can rent them from Teddy – he is the skate master (and local legend).  If your blades are dull, he’ll sharpen ’em up for you!

So bundle up the family and head to the rink!  While you’re there, indulge in some rink pizza from the concession stand – many argue it’s the best in town!

Public skating through Friday daily 10am-3pm.
