Apparently I’m a frustrated drummer.  C2 Pilates (844 Summer Street) just launched a new high-intensity cardio workout called Pound Fit Express that incorporates drum sticks into the routine and I gave it a try.  I was handled two bright green weighted drumsticks to use during class by our instructor Jamie.  At first I was unsure of what I was suppose to do with them, but as soon as class began, I quickly figured it out…and loved it!    

First, you raise the drum sticks over your head and tap them together.  Then you squat down and drum them on the floor in front of you.  Sometimes it’s a combination of both.  This fast-paced class packs in squats, lunges, isomeric jumps, and a killer ab workout into 30 minutes.  C2 also features a longer class called – simply enough – Poundfit which adds more abs and stretching.   Pound Fit is the opposite of Barre class – which C2 also offers – but the combination of the two classes during the week is a nice balance.
