Some new businesses are expected to open in the neighborhood very soon! Here are some we’re excited about!
Hawksmoor
Coming soon to Fort Point! Acclaimed London steakhouse Hawksmoor will open its first Boston location at 15 Necco Street on September 8. Expect sustainably sourced, dry-aged steaks cooked over charcoal, seafood, ice-cold martinis, and its famous Sunday Roast, all in a 200-seat space with sweeping Fort Point Channel views and a large outdoor terrace.
Piccolino
Created by Emily Swaine, a South Boston resident, Piccolino—Italian for “the little one”—is inspired by time spent living in Italy and will be a traditional day-to-night café. Mornings will feature fresh pastries and classic espresso drinks, while evenings will shift to seasonal shareable snacks, aperitivo cocktails, and Italian favorites like Aperol Spritzes, Negronis, marinated olives, and prosciutto e melone. The goal is to create a welcoming gathering place where neighbors can connect over coffee in the morning or meet up with friends for drinks and light bites in the evening. We’ll be sure to share more details, including an opening date, as soon as they’re announced.
Sunny Girl
Big news, sandwich lovers: the wildly popular North End spot, Sunny Girl, is opening at Perkins Square in the old McGoo’s Pizza location! For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sunny Girl, you’re in for a real treat! This sandwich shop will serve up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and features everything from a breakfast grilled cheese to burgers! You can check out their menu here!
Celine
Celine is expected to open later this month at 324 A Street, taking over the former Blue Dragon space. The new spot comes from Coda Restaurant Group, the team behind SRV, Baleia, Gufo, and The Salty Pig. The restaurant will bring a little Montréal to Boston with a French-Canadian-inspired menu featuring dishes like chicken liver mousse, steak tartare, moules marinière, and steak frites. The restaurant will also offer a strong cocktail and wine program. Chef Joe Cooke will lead the kitchen. Celine plans to open for dinner first, with lunch and brunch to follow. An exact opening date hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s currently on track for late September.
Sally’s Apizza
Considered one of the best pizza spots in the country by some, a Connecticut restaurant is coming to the neighborhood! Sally’s Apizza will open in Fort Point on Thompson Place soon. Sally’s Apizza was founded in New Haven, CT, by Salvatore “Sally” Consiglio in 1938. According to its website, they hand-craft authentic New Haven pizza in custom-designed ovens using the original recipes. The pizza is known for its distinctive tomato sauce and chewy, crispy crust with an iconic oven-kissed char. The pizza is so good that people have it shipped nationwide! Wowza!
