Here are some suggestions on where to spend Valentine’s  Day:

Romance is on the menu at Local 149.  This cozy hot spot is perfect for setting the scene for love.  You and someone special can feast on such deliciousness as Lavendar Honey Brushed Flat Bread, Scallop Ceviche, Skirt Steak with Duck Fat Potatoes.  For dessert?  Salty Almond Cake and Rose Petal Gelato.  Featured cocktails for the evening, Good Date – Angelica, House-made Pomegrante, Grenadine, Lemon, Prosecco and the Bad Date – Bank Note Scotch Whiskey Over Ice.  Reservations strongly recommended.  Call 617-269-0900.

Single in the city.  The Capiz Lounge, located inside the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel, take part in “Solo Night,” February 14, where singles can mingle with cocktails and beer served inside the legendary red Solo cups. Bartender Michael Palmquist will also be stirring up a custom Amoure cocktail, a tempting combination of Bacardi, champagne, lime, rose petals, and raspberries; topped with raspberry-rose foam. www.RenaissanceBoston.com

Del Frisco’s (250 Northern Ave.) is celebrating St. Valentine’s Day!  Sit by the sea with the one you love and enjoy some surf and turf action.  For $79 you can eat an 8 oz filet and and 8 oz lobster tail.  Order up a nice bottle of wine and getting lucky just might be on the dessert menu.  www.delfriscos.com

Kick it old school and head to Amrhein’s.  With the rich woodwork and oversized booths, Amrhein’s is a hot spot for love.  Order up a cocktail from Southie’s Favorite Bartender, Karen Artardo – she makes a mean martini called the Antioxidant – a concoction of cai berry vodka, pomegranate juice, fresh lemon juice & a splash of simple syrup.  Share some small plates like the calamari and the crab cakes.  Take their Worry Free Shuttle and save your parking spot!  Who doesn’t love not having to lose your parking spot?

Love is in the air at Barlow’s (241 A Street).   Featuring, a special menu, signature cocktails and live music,  on Thursday, February 14th.  The Valentine’s Day special menu will also be extended through the weekend too!
