You never know!
Halloween weekend in Southie can be nuts! Costumes, packed bar, lines galore and prices surging on Uber! Well, back in 2017, Rachel Chazanovitz and Mark DeSantis – both strangers – called an Uber in the early hours of October 29th and chose the UberPool option due to surge pricing. Little did they know it would lead to love.
According to People Magazine, Chazanovitz – dressed as a Dalmatian – and DeSantis without a costume – were each annoyed they had a fellow passenger in the UberPool for their ten minute ride. (Sometimes you get lucky and no one shares the ride with you.)
But as fate would have it, they started chatting, DeSantis offered to walk Chazanovitz home — not knowing she lived just 50 feet away from his own apartment. The two exchanged numbers and two days later went on a date.
In 2020, the couple got engaged and just this past Saturday, they tied the knot! You can read the full love story via People here!
