The story of a Cavapoo who fled a visit to the groomers and ended up clear across the city

This is Tito.
He’s 8 years old.
He’s a Cavapoo.
And he’s living his best little dog life in South Boston.
Tito loves a lot of things:
Walks along the water,
Snuggling up on the couch,
And eating treats like they’re going out of style.
But there’s one thing Tito does not love…
Haircuts.
One sunny day, last Friday to be exact, Tito headed to his groomer in the Seaport. He gives his mom, MK, the world’s saddest eyes. You know the look. The “Please don’t leave me here” kind.
But the groomers smile and say, “He’s always such a good boy!”
And he is.
Until…
DUN DUN DUNNNN.
In the middle of his trim—with one side shaved and the other still fluffy—Tito makes a break for it.
He jumps off the table, zooms past the brushes, zips out the door…
And just like that—
Tito is OUTTA THERE.
MK hears the news and runs straight to Seaport.
“TITO! TITO!” she calls, checking every sidewalk, street corner, and snack cart.
Meanwhile, MK’s boyfriend is on a mission—calling shelters, the State Police, missing dog hotlines, and anyone who might help find their little escape artist.
Time is ticking.
He’s out there… somewhere.
Then—a clue.
The groomer calls:
“Park rangers spotted a half-shaved pup by the Shell station on Rutherford Ave.”
Wait… Rutherford Ave?!
Charlestown? Yes, Charlestown!
Tito crossed the bridge! By himself! Half groomed!
MK and her crew jump in the car and rush across the city. Friends spread out. “TITO!” they shout.
Then, just when hope starts to fade—another tip!
A kind neighbor named Kayla spots a Facebook post. Someone’s found a scruffy little pup.
“TITO?!”
She runs outside and helps guide MK to the right spot.
A minute later—MK’s phone rings.
A friend says, “A girl named Maddy has him! She’s at the corner!”
MK turns the corner, and there he is.
Tito.
Wagging. Wiggling. Still a little lopsided.
But safe.
And home.
There are tears.
There are laughs.
There are hugs.
And yes—many, many treats.
He may not have finished his haircut…
But Tito’s great escape is finally over.
And if you’re wondering, did Tito’s fur get fixed. Because his collar and lease were at the groomer, his hair was evened out and he’s looking handsome!
The End.

It’s cute but, as a 20 yr kindergarten teacher, I would tweak it in several places. Children’s books that also try to cater to an adult audience ( lots of her phrasing) usually fall flat. But easily remedied…
this isn’t the children’s book. It’s just a news story written in a Children’s book style for fun! She’s looking to write one though!
