The Curious Case of the Southie Stoop Yeti

With the snow comes inconveniences like unshoveled sidewalks, digging out cars, and ice falling from buildings. But there are some snowy delights, too. Snow clinging to tree branches, sledding down the pit, and snow yetis. Snow yetis, you ask? Yes, little yetis created from the recent snowfall and popping up on stoops in Southie this week.
So, who has been “yeti’ing” homes in the neighborhood? Well, it’s the creation of Charlie Spicer, a sixth grader at South Boston Catholic Academy who decided to surprise his classmates with miniature versions of the Abominable Snowmen as a fun surprise.
It started first with just a few, dropped off under the cover of night for friends to find in the morning when they left for school. It was the talk of the sixth grade class. “Who is behind the yetis?”
Charlie ended up creating a dozen in total for his classmates. Just spreading a little joy in the neighborhood.
Thank you to Carolyn and Katie for the scoop!

Maureen, how do I request one for the next snowfall? Lol. 929 E 4th. Just sayin.
Great story!
…kid!! 👍🏻👊🏻✊🏻
Let’s face it, there’s a lot worse things he could be doing.
Gives me hope.
How awesome this is. What a great kid to do this.
That’s so cool! This is a fabulous story about a fabulous kid! I enjoyed reading it!
What a talented kid!! He’ll go far, especially if he keeps up with doing art work and doing stuff for his companions.
My—-what a talented kid! Nice, too. He’ll go far in whatever he chooses to do with his life, but he sure does have a knack for the arts! Here’s hoping he keeps it up.
