As the dog days of summer come to an end, what better way to take advantage of the beautiful weather than by celebrating everything that Southie has to offer! We’ll be counting down to Labor Day with the ultimate summer bucket list—chock full of the best warm-weather activities right in your backyard.

Eat
After a long day of sand and sun at Carson Beach, head over to Yankee Lobster for one of their famous lobster rolls or lobster mac ‘n cheese. Featured on The Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives, this no-frills joint will not disappoint. If you’re craving some seriously fresh lobster, this is the place for you! We recommend starting with the fried clams—the Best of Boston 2015 winner—and a cold beer on tap.

On the hunt for juicy fruit, crisp veggies, and the best local baked goods around? Then look no further than your very own South Boston Farmers Market! Located in front of the municipal parking lot at 446 West Broadway, this South Boston Neighborhood Association-sponsored market takes place on Mondays from 12-6pm through October. Featuring everything from the freshest seafood and produce to bread, herbs, and flowers, the South Boston Farmers Market is a great place to do your weekly grocery shop! Enjoy live music the first Monday of each month.

Workout
Get your yoga on! What could be better than starting your Sunday off strong with a little mind/body connection? Doing it at the beach, of course! Every Sunday through Labor Day, South Boston’s Radiant Yoga will be hosting morning classes at Castle Island. Class times begin at 9am and 10am and will be held at Pleasure Bay, across from the Farragut statue. Sign up ahead of time through the link below and we’ll see you on the beach!

Drink
Reward yourself after morning yoga on the beach by heading over to Local 149 for their signature Pleasure Bay Sangria. Made with a base of Chianti and brandy, this flavorful recipe features notes of cinnamon and vanilla, paired with orange, apple, pear, and pomegranate. We think it’s safe to say you’ll get your daily serving of fruit all in one glass! Sit back, relax, and enjoy.
