A very special Southie tree lighting
More than 300 people gathered for the annual Mayor Marty Walsh’s Enchanted Holiday Tour & West Broadway tree lighting in Southie! There was music, ponies, Santa and his band of merry makers, and the most magical moment of all – the Christmas tree lighting! But this year’s tree lighting was extra special!
Normally the mayor himself turns on the tree lights but this year he handed over the honor to Collin Tarbox – a little boy who will be spending Christmas at Boston’s Children’s Hospital.
Colin’s love of everything Christmas, so South Boston Neighborhood Coordinator John Allison and the mayor’s office made sure this Christmas would be one that he won’t soon forget!
