Southie Shoutout: Team Maddie Strong

On Sunday, a special fundraiser took place at The Handle Bar in Southie to raise money for Maddie Paskell- a 16 year-old from East Bridgewater who was diagnosed with leukemia this past March.  Kellie Burley – a Southie resident – organized the event to help the family out with medical costs.  Kellie also decided to ask the Southie business community for help with raffle prizes – and Southie did what Southie does best – they helped out!  

“I’ve lived in South Boston for six years now. I don’t think I’ve appreciated living here more than right now. The majority of my gift card donations came from Southie businesses and everyone was so kind and supportive,” said Kellie.   40 people participated in the event and $5000 was raised.  A post-ride celebration was held at Moonshine 152.  

Kellie would like to thank all the business that helped make Maddie’s Ride a huge success!
