South Boston’s own Tommy Flaherty was promoted to district chief on the Boston Fire Department on Friday. Flaherty started his career at Meeting House Hill firehouse, appointed to Ladder 7 fresh out of the fire academy. He then got promoted to lieutenant, and then captain at Ladder 7. He now starts his career as district chief. Way to go!
Tommy and his wife Annmarie and live in South Boston with their two children Tommy and Erin.
(Editor’s note: Tommy – dressed as Elvis – serenaded me and my husband Peter (also BFD) at our wedding by singing “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.” He also save my father’s life when he was having a heart attack. Tommy is one of the best of the bunch! Congrats!)
