On Monday, July 20th Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston/Edgerley Family South Boston Club doors will open for a five week summer program.

See Announcement Below:

There is much to be done to prepare for a safe and successful opening.  Simple games and activities that worked in the past will no longer be allowed, however our amazing staff are working on new ideas for our members to interact safely and still have fun.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?  Help fund/purchase a “SUMMER KIT” for our members.

Here’s some details:

SUMMER KITS – We are seeking to build “caddies” for each member who attends the summer program.  Essentially these would be caddies with crayons, mini puzzles, fidgets, and other supplies, so that everyone has their own materials to use each day while they are at camp.  This will help cut down on the amount of sanitizing we have to do, sharing (who ever thought we would discourage sharing?!) and potential transmission.

You can purchase supplies directly and have them shipped to the club by ordering them here  OR:  mail a check to the Club at 230 West Sixth Street  – South Boston, MA  02127  OR:  make a donation online at:  www.bgcb.org (Edgerley Family South Boston Club) earmark to our summer program.

We are also pleased to announce that we will continue to address food insecurity during the summer.  Not only will we serve our members breakfast, lunch and snack each day at camp – we will send members home with a “food box” for weekend meals with their family.  BGCB is committed to address this serious issue that has become so obvious during the pandemic.

As we navigate the “new normal”, we will not only offering programs and services to members starting July 20th – but we will continue virtual programs for those who are not able to attend the summer program.  We recognize our members and families need us now more than ever.  While many things around us have changed, our mission remains constant:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston mission is to help young people, especially those who need us most, Build strong character & realize their full potential as responsible citizens and leaders.

We thank you for your support and encouragement over the years, and especially during these trying times.

Wishing you, and yours, health and all the best!!
