Let’s Roll!

Inspired by their love of rollerblading and having fun, two former college hockey players have started a fun new social group called Boston Blade Club. Sydney and Carley, both Southie residents, both attended Salve Regina in Newport, RI.
“In the summers, we would rollerblade to the beach, so when we moved to South Boston, there was a similar vibe to the neighborhood. September into October, we rollerbladed around Castle Island loop and couldn’t wait for what the summer months would bring,” said Sydney.  And so the idea for the Boston Blade Club was born!
The inaugural skate will launch in front of the Curley Community Center on Saturday, May 4th, at 11 am.  Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner, this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy the sunshine, stay active, and meet some new people!
“Anyone is welcome! We want to be as inclusive as possible. Even if you want to run, you are more than welcome. Since we are on wheels, there may be a faster pace than someone that is running, but the more the merrier,”added Sydney.  Roller skates are welcome too!
Boston Blade merchandise is in the works, in addition to post-skate social gatherings at local restaurants and businesses.
The group will meet every Saturday at 11am weather permitting.  Make sure follow Boston Blade Club on Instagram for the latest.
