Way to go!
On Sunday, March 5th, City of Boston Credit Union Marketing Associate/Social Media Coordinator Samantha Mackie joined 38,000 runners hitting the streets of Japan’s capital for the 16th running of the prestigious Tokyo Marathon. Even more impressive, Samantha was looking to finish her Six Star Journey with the completion of this race. Anyone who runs one of the Six Abbott World Marathon Majors is on their Six Star Journey, with the ultimate goal to run all six and earn the Six Star Medal.
Starting her journey in 2018 with the successful running of the Boston Marathon, Samantha went on to run the New York Marathon, Chicago Marathon, London Marathon, Berlin Marathon, and arrived at her final stop, Tokyo! Coming into this year’s Tokyo Marathon, only 8,143 runners in the world had completed all six marathons and earned the rank of Six Star Finisher. The completion of the 2023 Tokyo Marathon welcomed 3,033 new Six Star Finishers as well as setting a Guinness World Record of ‘most people to earn a Six Star Medal at a single marathon.’
Samantha’s successful Six Star Journey around the world puts her in the prestigious ranks of only 11,176 runners in the world to have completed all six Abbott World Marathon Majors!
City of Boston Credit Union is extremely proud of Samantha for her perseverance in chasing her goals, and applauds her commitment and effort in making those dreams a reality! Congratulations Samantha!
