UPDATE:

The family of Joanne McNealy (seen here in photo with her grandson Ronny King) found the kind strangers who helped Joanne on Monday, September 23rd!  Recap: Last Monday,  Joanne walked to Rite Aid and on her way home she fell on K street.  People came to her aid and asked if they could help Joanne.  Joanne, being the a strong and proud woman, refused help and said she would continue to walk home.  Southie residents Julie Galgay and Tish Broderick helped comfort Joanne as a passeby ran to the nearby firehouse to get help.  Lt. Brian Nee from Engine 2 came running.  After examining Joanne, he called EMS and stayed until the ambulence arrived.

At Tufts Medical, Joanne discovered that she had a severe concussion and her left side of her brain was bleeding.  She was admitted to the hospital.  Doctors told Joanne’s family if she had walked home and not sought medical help she most likely would have died.  Until this past Friday, the family had been searching for the neighbors who helped their loved one.

A special thank you to Julie Galgay, Tish Broderick, Brian Nee and the still unknown passerby who helped Joanne!  It’s people like you that makes us proud to be from Southie!

Pay it forward, Southie!
