The Grigalunas Family
In 1950, the Grigalunas Family was the first family to move into the D Street Housing Development at 299 West Broadway in South Boston. Pictured in the photo is Pauline, Joe, Tom, Mike, Rose and Joe.
Mr. Grigalunas was a milkman for Whitings Milk. Later he owned the Pill HIll Deli at the corner of G and East Broadway.

it wasnt meant to keep people living theer for 30 years but to help them better themselves and move on in life. somehoe that message was lost
My family moved in there in 1950 also. Everything was new. I was born there in 52.
