Looks like Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar is adding some color to their building! Los Angeles based contemporary artist Augustine Kofie is creating his latest major art creation on the outside walls of Loco! Kofie’s unique style has been coined as “Vintage Futurism” embodying the harmonic layers of a DJ, the relevancy of an architect and the soulful palette of a color phycologist. Make sure to sneak a peek at it – it’s amazing! Since you’re in the neighborhood, stop in Loco and have a Coconut Margarita and some chips and guac! When in Rome, right?
“Kofie and I met about eight months ago through a mutual friend while he was visiting Boston. We chatted at Loco for a bit, and after a few beers decided that it would be so cool to bring one of his pieces to West Broadway,” says Mike Shaw, owner of Loco.
The mural will reflect the tones and shapes of our neighborhood’s rich history but also “spark a conversation with the innovation and direction of its vibrant future.” Far out!
