Megan Lee is running the Falmouth Road Race for Journey Forward
Moving Forward
Road races look a lot different this year due to COVID-19 but that’s not stopping this Southie resident from raising money for an awesome cause! Megan Lee will be running the Falmouth Road Race virtually. She will run the 7 miles on Sunday August 16th along the Neposet River Trail. Megan is familiar with this route because she completed a virtual “Run to Remember” – a half-marathon back in May! This time she’s be running a little more than half of that route to complete the the full seven miles of the Falmouth Road Race.
Her charity of choice is Journey Forward – non-profit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of those with spinal cord injuries or disability. It was founded by Dan Cummings who will also be participating in the Falmouth Road Race.
“I chose Journey Forward because my friend Mark Conde is a patient there and he’s truly an inspiration,” says Megan. Mark Conde, originally from Southie and now a resident of Dot, was diagnosed with Neurosarcoidois in 2017 – a rare autoimmune disease that left him in a wheelchair.
Conde goes to Journey Forward with the hope of one day walking again.
If you would like to help Megan raise some money for the amazing organization Journey Forward, you can make a donation here!
This is what Southie does best! Helping out those in need! Let’s go!
Megan – good luck on your run – you’re a great friend!
