Think of Kathy Lafferty as Santa’s little helper.  As the executive director of the South Boston Neighborhood House, Kathy along with a dedicated team, has launched another season of giving in South Boston with The Holiday Helper program.  This program aims to help parents who struggle to provide gifts for their children during the holiday season.

The Holiday Helper program began over 13 years ago and has grown considerably in the past few years.  As of today, over 400 families have reached out for help.  Just over 300 have been matched with a holiday helper and about 100 still waiting for a sponsor.  If you would like be matched with a family, kindly reach out to Kathy via email [email protected] or you can donate gift cards to help support these families or you can make a financial contribution either by sending a check or donating online here!

Pay it forward:
One of the most rewarding experiences for Kathy is when people who received in the past turn around and give back.  “For me, the most rewarding part of the program is when I get a call (and it happens every year) from someone who says, you helped me in the past and now I am back on my feet and Im in a position to help.  Can you send me a family wish list?  For me, that’s what this program is all about -ask for help when you need it – and give back when you can!”

So let’s pitch in and do what Southie does best, helping out!
