Oh boy!  His Highness is back in town for Memorial Day Weekend!   King Tide will be rolling through bringing with it 2.5 extra feet of water at high tide!  Why does this happen? Well, because the earth, the moon and the sun are aligned at perigee and perihelion.

People in the know say that these extreme high tides are a glimpse at tides of the future! Around mid century!  We fear Morrissey Blvd in Dorchester near UMass – that area floods on a normal tide!  Yikes.

As for the King Tides times, Saturday his majesty rolls in around 1:14pm, Sunday at 2:09pm and Monday at 3:05pm. Send us pictures if you’re on the beach – or lack there of beach.  M Street is gonna be teeny tiny!

I can remember when the tide wasn’t considered royalty. It had two names: low and high.
