Beacon to Dream
Light the lanterns. Medicine Wheel’s countless hours of creating hand-made paper lantern will come to fruition on Wednesday, August 28th at 7pm. Join your friends and neighbors at Castle Island and celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s, “I Have a Dream” speech. Included will be:
- Screening of Dr. Kings’ I Have a Dream Speech on the Walls of Fort Independence
- Musical Program Nancy Armstrong Alan Rias Ja-Nae Duane “My Country Tis of Thee”
- Lantern Walk and Community celebration of Inclusion
Thousands of lanterns will encircle Pleasure Bay in this special Beacon to Dream Event.
