Winter is officially here!  And with snow in the forecast, the Laboure Center is looking for some able bodies to volunteer to help Southie seniors shovel out their homes!  By helping to shovel, Snow Angels could help prevent falls on ice, back injuries, and other serious and debilitating injuries for seniors or disabled residents trying to clear snow alone.

If you, or anyone you know would like to volunteer, please contact Director Jake Bombard at [email protected] or call 617-308-4922.  You can fill out the volunteer form here!

“Snow removal can be daunting for many of our elderly and disabled loved ones. When there are large snowfalls, seniors who cannot shovel themselves out can face isolation and immobility.  With this volunteer program, we are hoping to make a real impact in people’s lives, while giving people yet another way to feel connected to their neighbors and their community.”” said Bombard.
